The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, on Tuesday, said the loot recovered from former Delta State Governor, James Ibori will be used for the construction of the Second Niger Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and the Abuja-Kano Highway.
The minister stated this after a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with the United Kingdom for the return of £4.2 million of the stolen assets seized from Ibori.
The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing signed on behalf of the British Government at the Conference Hall of the Federal Ministry of Justice in Abuja.
Laing, who disclosed that the money was recovered from friends and family members of the former governor, warned that the UK will no longer be used as a destination for looters to siphon proceeds of crimes.
