Tragedy was averted on Tuesday morning as another petroleum product laden tanker fell in Benue State, barely two days after one fell on Sunday and exploded, killing 12 people, while several houses were razed.
The Tuesday accident, according to reports, happened close to scene of the Sunday accident at Oshigbudu in Agatu Local Government Area of the state.
Confirming the development, the Vice-Chairman of the local government, John Ikwulono, said that no life was lost but a few houses were touched.
Ikwulono said: “Yes, another petroleum tanker fell around 4.00am today, it happened as you are entering Oshigbudu. The tanker spilt its content and exploded.
“But thank God there was no casualty, except a few houses that the content spilt to.
The Vice-Chairman noted that people had to resort to using water and detergent to put out the fire.
