The office of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Kaduna State has been reportedly invaded by armed thugs numbering about 100 on Wednesday as the strike embarked upon by workers in the state entered day three.
The NLC office is used as the meeting point of workers in the state for their daily protests against the sacking of their colleagues by the state government led by Governor Nasir el-Rufai.
The invasion of the office by the thugs was confirmed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Muhammad Jalige, adding that about 20 of the thugs were arrested.
It would be recalled that thugs attacked the protesting workers on Tuesday, hurling stones at them in an attempt to disrupt the protest before they were chased away by security operatives.
