Men and officers of the Nigeria Police Force on Wednesday disrupted a summit organised by Imo Transparency Group International to highlight the achievements of a former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha.
Led by the Divisional Police Officer of New Owerri Police Division, the policeman forced the organisers to stop the programme, saying they are acting on others from above.
The summit, billed for Immaculate Hotel, Port Harcourt Road, Owerri, was almost under way when riffle weilding policemen invaded the venue to disperse the delegates from the venue.
According to the DPO, he was implementing an order from “above” not to allow the summit to hold.
