Stop Allocating Funds To NDDC Until New Board Is Constituted, Orbih Tells FG

The National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South-South, Chief Dan Orbih has called on the Federal Government to suspend allocation of funds to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) until a proper board is constituted for the commission.

Orbih, who described the NDDC as a celebrated institution of fraud and scandals, made the call at a reception organised for him by the Edo State Governnent in Benin City on Saturday.

Charging the Federal Government to stop playing politics with the Development of the Niger Delta by constituting the commission’s board, Orbih decried the fraud and scandals emanating from the commission, saying the NDDC is denying the people of the oil rich region of the desired development.

He said: “Let me use this occasion to call on the federal government to stop playing politics with the development of the Niger Delta region. I condemn the refusal of the federal government to constitute the NDDC board in accordance with the commission’s Act.

“Until a proper board is inaugurated, the government should suspend all allocations to the commission.”
