Senate Goes Into Closed-Door Session As NLC Backed Protesters Storm National Assembly

The screening of ministerial nominees sent to the Senate last week by President Muhammadu Buhari has begun.

The nominees are Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh – Abia State; Umana Okon Umana – Akwa Ibom State; Ekumankama Joseph Nkama- Ebonyi State and Goodluck Nanah Opiah – Imo State.

Others are Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub – Kano State; Ademola Adewole Adegoroye – Ondo State; and Odum Udi – Rivers State.

The names of the nominees were sent to the Senate by President Buhari to fill the vacancies left by ministers who resigned their appointments to contest the primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for various elective offices in the 2023 general elections.
