Professional Misconduct: Osun CP Disbands Surveillance Squad
Osun State Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode

Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr Olawale Olokode, has ordered the immediate disbandment of his Surveillance Squad, citing professional misconduct by its members.

This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday in Osogbo by the Osun State Police Command’s Spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola.

“The dissolution is with immediate effect and all personnel attached to the squad are to report to the State Headquarters for redeployment.

“Investigations have commenced at the State’s Criminal Investigation Department over complaints of unprofessional conduct exhibited by personnel of the squad,’’ Opalola said in the statement.

According to her, the disbandment would serve as a deterrent to other tactical squads as the Command, under Olokode would not tolerate or condone any act unbecoming of police officers.

Olokode, according to the statement, enjoined Osun residents to rekindle their trust in the police, saying they were committed to giving the state improved services that would stand the test of time.
