A Nollywood actress, Sonia Ogiri has said that it is wrong to harbour the belief that men are responsible for the success of most of the women doing well in their careers and in life generally, especially in the entertainment industry.
The US based actress made the arguement on her Instagram page on Sunday evening, insisting that most men have failed to fend for themselves, hence, they are not are able to take care of a woman’s needs.
Sonia, who recently took delivery of her third vehicle within three months, insisted that several young women work hard for their money and do not wait for financial support from any man.
“Stop tying, connecting a woman’s success, cars, houses to men. Most of the so called men are hungry these days. 96% of women today are hardworking, I won’t be surprised if some are into yahoo or drugs.
“Women are winning these days, like it or not. Women now have the heart of lions and kings. The desire to have our own money is unquenchable. We look beyond men’s money.”
Sonia’s Instagram post is coming on the heels of phenomenal rise in the financial status of many female actors in Nollywood, with many of them ascribing it to the usual phrase ‘small girl with big God’.
But on the other side, their male counterparts continue to struggle to make ends meet, despite making waves in the industry and obviously hugely talented.
