Kwankwaso Floors Ganduje Again As NNPP Wins Kano Governorship Election

Former Kano State governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso has again dealt a deadly blow on his former deputy, Abdullahi Ganduje, the incumbent governor of the state, as the Independent National Electoral Commission {INEC} has declared the candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party {NNPP}, Abba Yusuf as the winner of the March 18 governorship election in the state.

The declaration was made in the early hours of Monday amid growing tension in the state.

According to INEC. Yusuf defeated his close rival, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna of the All Progressive Congress {APC} with a margin of over 100,000 votes.

The INEC Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Ahmad Doko Ibrahim declared the results at the Kano Collation Centre, INEC headquarters in Kano.

Naijanewsnow reports that Kwankwaso’s NNPP had also defeated APC’s Bola Tinubu, the President-elect in the February 25 presidential election, in which Kwankwaso was a candidate.
