The State Commissioner of Works and Housing, Engr Abubakar Ohere disclosed this on Wednesday while on the spot assessment of the ongoing construction works at the State Referral Hospital, Okene.
According the Commissioner, the December date for the completion of the hospital project may no longer be feasible due to the upgrade.
He also commended the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello for his forthright and vision in the establishment of the hospital, adding that the hospital would serve the medical needs of the people of North Central.
In his comments, the state Commissioner of Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, described the referral hospital as a legacy project that would outlive the present administration.
According to him, the project is an attestation to the people-focused vision of Governor Bello, adding that the project would not only serve the people of the state but would put an end to medical tourism outside the Country.
He also noted that with the quality of the job done at the hospital, Governor Bello has shown enough capacity to govern Nigeria well.
