Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Anambra State, are working round the clock to unravel the mystery behind the hard drugs found in the palace of a traditional ruler in the state.
The state Commander of the NDLEA, Muhammadu Misbahu Idris, in a statement on Monday, revealed that 58.5 grams of cocaine and 13.9 grams of heroin were concealed in the palace of the traditional ruler.
Though he failed to release details of the traditional ruler, Idris said security operatives at the palace were helping to trace the owners of the consignment. “Investigations are ongoing to unravel how the illicit drugs were hidden in the palace and the palace security guards are helping in tracing the dealer behind the consignment,” Idris said.
Unconfirmed reports however said that the traditional ruler involved in the drug haul is the Igwe of Obosi.
