Families Of Dead Police Officers Get N22.7m Support In Nasarawa

Families of 15 police officers who died in active service in Nasarawa State, have been presented with cheques worth N22. 7 million by the state police command.

The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Adesina Soyemi, while presenting the cheques to the next of kin of the officers on Thursday in Lafia, said the gesture was an initiative of the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, tagged, ‘Group life Assurance, and aimed at supporting the families of Police officers who die in active service.

According to CP Soyemi, the gesture was to boost the morale of all Police officers in the country in order to spur them to do more in protecting Nigeria and to ensure that the country is safe for citizens.

Soyemi said: “On behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Baba Alkali, today I am presenting cheques worth N22,726,926,83k to 15 families of Police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty in Nasarawa State.

“This is also to boost the morale of all other Police officers in the country so that they will put in their best in fighting crime to ensure that Nigeria is safe for all of us.”

Speaking on behalf of other beneficiaries, Mrs Nfomi Emerencia, thanked the Inspector-General of Police and promised to make judicious use of the money.
