Culprits of gender-based violence will henceforth be publicly paraded, the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation said on Monday.
This was contained in a statement by the ministry, revealing that the decision was reached during the commemoration of the 16-day activism against gender-based violence for youths.
The event, with the theme ‘Orange the World, Stop Gender- Based Violence against women and girls now!’ , was held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Alausa, Lagos.
“The participants were urged to be change agents in rebuilding cultural norms and practices that spike gender – based violence within the society.
“Culprits of all forms of Gender-Based Violence, will henceforth be paraded publicly, as measures to curb such societal menace,” the statement said.
