Court Grants Portable N300,000 Bail With Two Immediate Family Members As Surety

A Magistrate Court sitting in Ifo, Ogun State has granted controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, a N300,000 bail.

The Ogun State Police Command had arraigned the singer on a three-count charge bothering on assault and theft of musical equipment before the court.

Portable was however granted bail by the presiding Magistrate of the of the court today, Monday, with two sureties who must be members of his immediate family.

The Magistrate also ordered that Portable must fulfil the bail condition before leaving the court premises.

It will be recalled that Portable was arrested on Friday by police operatives, after he had turned down series of invitations extended to him.

His journey to the court began last week when he shared an Instagram live video claiming that some police personnel stormed his bar at Sango Ota at the request of an Internet fraudster (Yahoo Boy).

The video, which has since gone viral, sparked some outrage online, which prompted the Ogun State Police Command to invite the singer to their office.

Portable, however, refused to show up after the 72-hour ultimatum given to him by the police to turn himself in.
