Buachi Wants EFCC To Investigate APC Public Officers Over N1.4b Road Contract Fraud

The Bauchi State Government has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate some elected and appointed public officers in the All Progressives Congress (APC) over a N1.4 billion road construction fraud.

The governor made the call on Thursday during the inauguration of a 24.5 kilometres Itas -Gadau Road construction project performed by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde at Itas Gadau local government area of the state, adding that the N1.4 billion was collected for the construction of the Soro-Miya road project but no work had been done.

Mohammed said: “We have come and we have discovered that we have a lot of challenges, the Central Zone of Bauchi State have been short-changed over the years by successive administrations.

“The Miya road has been encumbered by corruption; some people who are calling themselves leaders have collected the money, but we are not here to waste our time opening cardboards and looking for skeletons.

“We are calling on the EFCC and ICPC to make sure that they investigate what we have forwarded to them on Soro-Miya Road because over N1.4bn has been collected.”
