The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed on Wednesday avoided answering questions on the embattled Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami.
Pantami, who has been under fire over his alleged link and support for terrorist groups, has been under pressure to resign from office. He however attended today’s Federal Executive Council {FEC} meeting virtually. The meeting was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Mohammed, while responding to questions after the meeting, said the issue of Pantami was not discussed at the meeting.
However, when asked if the Federal Government was comfortable with the continued presence of Pantami in the cabinet, the minister said he would not go into the issue.
“I am not going to go into the issue of whether government is comfortable or not. I will answer your question directly. It (Pantami’s issue) was not discussed at the council meeting.”
