Abductors of two Chinese nationals, who invaded a mining site in Itikan Village near Ifewara have demanded for N10 million ransom before they are released.
The spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, disclosed this while appearing on a television programme on Wednesday. She however said a combined team of police and other security groups had launched manhunt for the perpetrators of the crime.
Opalola said: “The kidnappers are demanding ransom and we are still working on ways to rescue the Chinese expatriates.
“The kidnappers are demanding a sum of N10 million before they will release the Chinese expatriates.
“We plead with the general public to help the police with information that will help its men to be more efficient in securing lives and property in the state,” Opalola added.
